KILGORE, TX (KLTV) - The family of an East Texas firefighter killed in a ladder training exercise will soon be in court.
In January 2009, two Kilgore firefighters were killed from an eight story fall from a platform truck ladder on the campus of Kilgore College.
Firefighters Cory Galloway and Kyle Perkins were the victims.
Galloway's family has filed a lawsuit against E-one Incorporated, Hallmark Apparatus of Texas, and the city of Kilgore in connection with his death.
The suit centers around an aerial platform truck delivered just weeks before the exercise which did not include safety belts.
The suit accuses the Kilgore Fire Department of requiring its fire fighters to operate the equipment in a high risk exercise after just a few hours of basic training.
