East Texans gather for Tyler's Artwalk

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - If you have a bare spot on your wall, you might want to check out the downtown Tyler Artwalk. It runs until 8 o'clock Friday night.

Twenty artists are showing their works at 11 shops around the square.

The event is sponsored by city of Tyler's Main Street program and the Downtown Tyler Arts Coalition.

There will be a dance group performing, as well as a pottery throwing demonstration. Artists are hoping to make a few sales.

"There's been lots of publicity," said Lisa Horlander, a painter. "I've told all my friends and everybody I know, 'Come on, bring your checkbook. I've got some good things. I'm going to be selling some little paintings,' that, 'I'll be painting while I'm here. So, if you can't buy a big sized one you can bring a little one home.'"

It is the third annual walk and it runs until 8 p.m. Friday.
