LONGVIEW,TX (KLTV) - A bit of a scare took place at a Longview rail-yard early this morning when fire and haz-mat units responded to a spill. Fire officials say a little after midnight two Union Pacific tank cars jumped rails at the rail area near Amtrak. A valve on one car ruptured, spilling around 50 gallons of an anti-freeze chemical. Crews quickly contained and cleaned the spill, keeping authorities from having to evacuate nearby homes. A team from Union Pacific railroad is investigating the cause of the incident.
