Longview Mayoral Race Upset

In Longview incumbent mayor Earl Roberts was challenged by Longview businessman Murray Moore.

In something of a shocker, Murray Moore has won by a landslide receiving 4,562 votes or 63  of the vote over mayor Earl Roberts 2,470 votes or 37-percent of the vote.

The race was hotly contested with plenty of mud-slinging between the two camps.

The now mayor elect says he gives the credit to the voters and although it started as something of a long shot, he got the support he needed.

Roberts says it is unlikely he will run for the mayors' again.
