Country Music star Lee Ann Womack, winner of 5 Academy of Country Music Awards, 5 Country Music Association Awards, and 2 Grammys, returns to her native East Texas June 12th to headline this year's Tyler Cattle Barons' Gala.
The Jacksonville native always wanted to sing country music and spent years preparing. She says she was a "ten year instant success" because she spent ten years in Nashville before she even got a chance to sell her songs.
Womack's first hit was "the Fool", but it was "I Hope You Dance" that brought her the kind of critical success that most singers can only dream about.
Other hits have followed and Womack doesn't get back to Jacksonville and East Texas very often, so her performance at the Cattle Baron's Gala is a homecoming that her fans, friends and family have been waiting for.
The Tyler Cattle Barons' Gala is scheduled for June 12th at the Park of East Texas. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. For more information contact the ACS office at 903 596-1348
