TYLER, TX (KLTV) - We are just two days away from the Parade of Homes in Tyler where thousands will tour the biggest and best creations of local home builders. Craftsmen are hurrying to put the finishing touches on their creations.
Two stories, more than 3,400 square feet of heated and cooled interior, throw in a pool and you get one of many lucky homes. One of the first things you notice as you walk in is the hardwood floors and a boxed ceiling.
"Obviously, this house is still under construction," said Curtis Smith, with Campbell Custom Homes. "We're in the last stages on completion. We're installing some glass right now and doing some final cleanup work...custom cabinetry, custom tile work, custom paint work."
If it is cooking you are after, look no further than the six burner stove.
In the north wing things are all business except a surprise when company comes.
"Custom Murphy bed in the wall," said Smith. "It folds down and you can convert this office space to a bedroom."
Impressive, but we had not even hit the real bedroom, which was just down the hall.
"[It has a] built in fireplace in the master, recess for 50-inch TV [and] access to the pool and back patio that's screened in from the master," said Smith.
The bathroom features a garden tub near the ladies domain across from another custom addition.
"Your walk in shower with multiple body sprays," said Smith.
Convenient, but for water fun in the sun, you gotta head outside.
"Step into the screened back porch," said Smith.
Or, if you prefer, no screen at all, with a remote control when the bugs aren't bad.
"The pool area is the centerpiece of this house," said Smith.
105 square feet of heated blue, plus a spa and don't even think about forgetting the waterfall, creating an oasis tempting for anyone.
Curtis will have a few more hours to finish up the home before the masses hit. The only recognized Parade of Homes in Tyler starts June 5 and runs through the 13th.
