Shooting leads to arrest of man who had a stolen gun say police

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - Released by the Longview Police Department:

LONGVIEW, TX - On June 3, 2010 at around 1:45 a.m., Longview Officers were dispatched to 300 East Glenn Drive for a report of a shooting.

Officers arrived and met with the victim, Felisha Ford, who told them she was arguing with Derrick Gray and he shot at her. Ford wasn't injured during the incident and said that Gray fled prior to the officers' arrival. Officers searched the area and located Gray at his residence at 409 Marion Drive.

Gray fled from officers on foot and ran into a wooded area behind his house. Officers located him hiding in some bushes and he was taken into custody without incident. Officers located the 9mm handgun used in the shooting and found that it was reported as stolen.

Derrick Demond Gray was transported to the Gregg County Jail and booked for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, theft of a firearm and disorderly conduct.
