PRESIDENT SAYS HUMAN RIGHTS ARE FOR PEOPLE OF ALL FAITHS

President Bush says Iraqis long for freedom from oppression -- whether they're "Sunni or Shia or Kurd or Chaldean (kal-DEE'-un) or Assyrian or Turkoman or Christian or Jew or Muslim." Bush told Arab-Americans in Michigan -- in a speech broadcast across the Arab world -- that America won't impose any government or culture on Iraq but will help it form a new democracy to replace Saddam Hussein. The president told the crowd of about 600 -- many of them Christians who had fled Iraq -- that "no matter what your faith, freedom is God's gift to every person in every nation."
