LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - Longview Police are on the look out for a man who robbed a convenient store clerk at gunpoint. He then forced her to drive to a remote location to drop him off.
The victim is an employee at the Tiger Mart convenience store on East Marshall Avenue in Longview. She was leaving the store Tuesday morning with a bank deposit, and that is when the armed suspect confronted her.
Authorities say the suspect entered the victim's car and forced her to drive to East Country Club near Redmon Road. He took the bank deposit and ran away.
Law enforcement says the victim was not injured, but the suspect is still on the loose.
"She drove away from that location to some place she felt safe and then she called police and told us what happened," said Kevin Brownlee, with the Longview Police Department. "The suspect is described as a black male. He was wearing a dark hat and a white t-shirt. The victim also said he had on long pants."
Longview Police say another armed robbery happened over the weekend at a convenience store on Estes Parkway and I-20. Authorities have not linked the two incidents.
