CARTHAGE, TX (KLTV) - CARTHAGE, TX (KSLA) - A family is in mourning Sunday night after the drowning of their 18-year-old son.
The 18-year-old was out with his family on Lake Murval around 5:30 p.m. Sunday when the drowning happened.
The victim, whose name is not being released at this time, did not know how to swim, but made his way out to the "no swim zone" of the lake.
Investigators recovered the his body, and he was pronounced dead.
The Panola County Sheriff's Office, Texas Wildlife & Fisheries game wardens as well as Clayton and Gary Fire Departments all responded to the drowning.
