East Texas Events This Weekend

If you're looking for fun family entertainment this weekend, East Texas is the place to be.

   The 10th annual Blues Fest in downtown Tyler kicks off Saturday. Tickets are $15. For more information, call 903-531-2415.

   Or, you can check out Tyler's Downtown Rotary Club Chili Cook Off. It'll be held in the parking lot of the Unclaimed Furniture store on Broadway. It kicks off at 11:00 a.m. and goes till 6 o'clock. The cost: $5.

   In Wills Point, you can check out the 10th Annual Bluebird Festival. The Little Miss Bluebird Pageant, country singer Janie Fricke and Armadillo races are just a few of the attractions. It all kicks off Saturday on Main St. in downtown Wills Point. 

   For those of you who just want to go out and ride a bike in the great weather, you can check out the Beauty and the Beast bike tour. It kicks off at 9 a.m. at UT Tyler.

Tyler's Blue's Festival kicks off at noon in downtown Tyler Saturday. Tickets are $15. Eight bands will be performing including Elvis T. Busboy and Doyle Bramhall.

   There is also the Multicultural Fest in Longview. It starts at 11 a.m. at the mall. There will be a celebration of different cultures with food, fashion shows and entertainment. Tickets are $6.

   The Malakoff Cornbread Festival kicks off at 9 a.m. and goes all day. They'll have a sidewalk arts and crafts sale, plenty of cornbread and a knife and tomahawk throwing competition.

   And the Henderson Rodeo finishes up Saturday. The sporting clay tournament starts at 9 a.m. and of course there will be all of your favorite rodeo events.
