Some East Texas doctors and nurses donned running gear Thursday, in an effort to raise money for cancer research. At Kilgore's Laird Memorial Hospital, doctors and nurses took part in the modified relay for life, to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The contestants split into blue and red teams, with the winner having hospital bragging rights for the next year. The goal was to raise more than $1,000 and to have a little fun along the way. The city-wide Relay for Life is scheduled to begin Friday at 7:00 a.m.
