Tyler Spends Millions to Save Millions More

New high tech upgrades are heading for Tyler streets soon.

The City voted to buy $18.4 million worth of upgrades. They include replacing all 31,000 commercial and residential water meters with newer models, replacing all traffic signals with more energy efficient lights, replacing air conditioning units in city buildings, and replacing motors at the wastewater treatment plant.

The Council estimates the upgrades will save Tyler $29 million over the next ten years.
