LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - Teaching kids about nutrition and good eating is the focus of a program at Longview schools over the next two weeks.
A program called Kids in the Kitchen started Wednesday at Hudson Pep Elementary.
it is a nation-wide program that is sponsored locally by the Junior League of Longview. The program's events included multiple learning stations to select the healthiest foods, and make healthy and tasty snacks and even shopping races.
"I learned to eat the right things for a snack and to exercise, and to have fun," said Marie Claire, a third grader.
Next week the Junior League will take the in the kitchen kids to Valley View Elementary where they will have 200 kids to educate about good eating.
