LAKE SAM RAYBURN, TX (KTRE) - A Broaddus man was flown by medical helicopter to a Tyler hospital after driving his motorcycle up on a line of stopped vehicles on the State Highway 103 bridge between Angelina and Nacogdoches counties.
Department of Public Safety Trooper Gary Rudisill said Garland Buffalo, 64, was actually walking around after the wreck, but emergency responders chose to send him to Tyler, since he had suffered a head injury.
According to Rudisill, Buffalo was driving westbound on the bridge and was not paying attention until he realized a line of cars had stopped on a construction zone. He was forced to "lay down" his motorcycle to make it stop and avoided hitting any other vehicles.
The Texas Department of Transportation is repaving the bridge and has one lane closed on part of it.
