Yantis man shot 3 times, deputies investigating

YANTIS, TX (KLTV) - Released by Lt. Blaylock with Wood County:

YANTIS, TX - Monday at approximately 8:44PM, Wood County Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Yantis where a male subject, later identified as William Taylor, had been shot.

Upon arrival, Deputies were advised that after a physical confrontation between Mr. Taylor and Parnell Maples at Mr. Maples residence that a teenager shot Mr. Taylor approximately three times.

Mr. Taylor was sent to ETMC Tyler where he had surgery for three gun shots.

Mr. Taylor refused to give any information about the shooting other than saying he was at his residence cleaning a fence row when he thinks someone may have driven up and shot him.

No charges have been filed at this time and no arrest, but the investigation is still pending.

All persons involved in this incident are from the Yantis area.
