WOOD COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Sunday night, the Extreme Makeover team introduced the rest of America to the Carr Family of Mineola.
For many East Texans, it was the first chance to get a glimpse inside the house East Texas built. But, the hour-long show can only show so much, which means Hollywood left a lot on the cutting room floor so Mike and Katrina Carr invited us back into their home show us exactly what makes their home special.
Once inside the finished product, there was no ignoring the extreme lengths East Texas volunteers went to, capturing the essence of this very unique family.
All four of Mike and Katrina's children were adopted from Kazakhstan. The new home meticulously combines Kazakh heritage with practical helpfulness.
Each family member showed us their favorite spaces, but the Carrs consider each and every new square foot of space a blessing.
They said they can't wait to help make the dream come true for a future, ExtremeMakeover family.
