Citizens again aid officers with arrest

LONGVIEW, TX - On May 1, 2010 at around 3:00 p.m., Longview Officers responded to the Regency Park Apartments at 1500 West Fairmont Street for a report of a criminal mischief that had just occurred.

Officers arrived at the scene and were told that 18-year-old Lacorian Dewayne Davis had damaged a vehicle during a dispute with family members and had fled the apartments. Officer Cody Hargrove helped other officers with a search of the area and located Davis in the 2200 block of West Marshall Avenue.

Officer Hargrove ordered Davis to stop, but Davis fled on foot, crossing the roadway in front of several cars. Officer Hargrove pursued Davis towards the intersection of West Marshall Avenue and Rockwall Street when a citizen stopped his vehicle and got out to help. Davis attempted to strike the citizen, but Officer Hargrove and the citizen were able to subdue him.

Lacorian Davis was positively identified by witnesses as the person who committed the criminal mischief and he was booked into the Gregg County Jail for criminal mischief (State jail felony), evading arrest (Class A misdemeanor), and two outstanding warrants issued by the Longview Municipal Court.
