TYLER, TX (KLTV) - T.K. Gorman keeps turning out college talent. Three students have signed on to play college hoops. Stephen Ray has signed with U.T. Tyler. Ray says his parents have hardly missed a game since he was seven years old. So why change anything now?
"It's really important to my family to be there," said Ray. "They can come see me and watch me play. I'm looking forward playing at UT Tyler next year. It will be great."
Two ladies will be headed further from home. Sara Navarro will run track and field and play basketball at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. Her teammate Kathryn Huber, will play basketball at Case Western University in Cleveland.
"Jackson is only five hours away," said Navarro. "Four and a half if you step on the gas pedal a little bit. But it's going to be five for me. I think it will make me appreciate what I have here more after leaving it."
Huber's also excited about a new experience.
"I'm just glad to be going some place new and be able to represent everything this school and this community has done for me in a whole new place."
