Meth Bust Worth As Much As $500 Thousand

In a small home in Northern Smith County -- a huge drug find. Four ounces of processed Methamphetamine, and sixteen pounds of "Meth oil" about to be made ready for sale. Sheriff J.B. Smith says in all the meth would fetch as much as half a million dollars on the street.

35-year-old Scott James Davis and 36-year-old Darline Whittington were arrested and charged with first degree felonies. Sheriff Smith says there is a rise in meth manufacturers in East Texas. "it seems like methamphetamine has become so popular with the youth, the demand is there, and as long as the demand is there, they're going to keep cooking and finding ways of cooking, and it's us against them."

If convicted, Davis and Whittington could receive life in prison.
