East Texans celebrate National Train Day

Opening Reception for "The Gregg County Railroad Story" Exhibit
An exhibit featuring Gregg County Railroad Memorabilia in the Gregg County Historical Museum's Education Center 218 North Fredonia Street, Downtown Longview. 
Open to the public; free admission.
This exhibit is sponsored in part by the City of Longview's Cultural Activities Advisory Commission and the Crain Cook Family Traveling Exhibt Fund. 

4:00 – 7:00 pm
National Train Day Celebration

Celebrate National Train Day with The City of Longview, the Gregg County Historical Museum, Amtrak, the East Texas Council of Governments, the Marshall, Texas T&P Depot, Inc., the East Texas Corridor Council for higher speed rail, and the "Texas Eagle" Marketing and Performance Organization (T.E.M.P.O. Group).  A live band, children's activities, refreshments, and railroad memorabilia displays will enhance a 5:30 pm ribbon cutting when Mayor Jay Dean will officially accept transfer of ownership to Longview's historic passenger depot from the Union Pacific Railroad.
Amtrak Station, 905 Pacific Avenue, Longview.
Open to the public; free admission.
