TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Trinity County deputies raided a Trinity business recently to find what they call an illegal gambling operation.
The joint law enforcement raid, which included deputies from the Trinity County Sheriff's office, the District Attorney's office, as well as, the Texas Department of Public Safety executed a search warrant at a business located at 840 South Highway 19. Investigators said an illegal gambling room was discovered.
Sheriff's deputies seized 31 eight liners, a pistol and over $1,800 in cash. Robert Moody, 78, of Groveton, the alleged operator, was arrested and charged with "keeping a gambling place." That is a Class A misdemeanor.
Moody is out of jail on a $3,000 bond.
