SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Dover Baptist and Clear Spring Missionary Baptist Churches were both destroyed by arsonists one night back in February.
Members of those two churches broke new ground, Saturday morning.
Clear Spring members joined members of Dover on their ground for a very special, groundbreaking ceremony.
Dover is preparing to pour its new foundation. Meanwhile, just a few miles up the road walls now meet a new roof above what will become the new Clear Spring building.
"The community is coming together and showing that they love each other, and that we can do tremendous things as one," said Darrin Taylor, a member of Clear Spring.
"[God] already has the plan," said Carl Samples, pastor of Dover Baptist. "We just need to listen long enough to follow it."
Jane Norris said she's been a member at Dover since the early seventies. "We're just so thankful for all the blessings and we know they come from God," she said.
"We have been through the storm, and now we're looking up to see the sun peak through the clouds," said Brandon Owens, pastor of Clear Spring.
The Texas Rose Horse Park plans to host the Country Gospel Fest #1, a benefit concert for both churches. For more information, contact the Texas Rose Horse Park.
The event is scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m., July 3rd.
