Teacher Suspended for Threatening Student

An East Texas school teacher, already in trouble for allegedly holding a knife to a student's throat, has essentially been terminated from his teaching position. West Rusk High School teacher, Don Hayes was suspended in February over allegations by a female student that he held a pocketknife to her throat to get her to do schoolwork. While the case is under investigation by police, the school board has suspended Hayes for the remainder of the school year, and stipulated that he is non-renewable for future employment at the district.
