LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Angelina County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Tyler County man who they believe exposed himself on at least three occasions to children riding as passengers on U.S. 69, between Huntington and Zavalla.

Inv. Mike Jones said Clifton Earl Chessher, 45, has been charged with one count of child indecency for exposing himself to a woman and her two children in late January.

According to the arrest affidavit, the mother told Jones that Chessher was standing next to his truck, partially in the road near Zavalla, with his pants down to his ankles and fondling himself as she drove by. She said she had to swerve to avoid hitting him. As she passed by, he made eye contact with her and continued fondling himself.

The woman called the Zavalla Police Department and reported the incident. A Zavalla Police Officer questioned Chessher, who denied fondling himself and said he was only urinating.

Jones said Chessher will be charged with two other counts, both connected to him doing the same act as Huntington ISD school buses drove by, the latest occurring April 20.

Jones said the sheriff's office has nicknamed Chessher the "Highway Flasher." Bond has not yet been set for him.
