Longview public library friends group publishes cookbook

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

Released by the City of Longview:

LONGVIEW, TX - The Friends of the Longview Public Library has collected 250 recipes from Longview families and compiled them into an attractive keepsake cookbook. Proceeds from cookbook sales will help fund future community projects sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

According to Library Manager Kara Spitz, "At the Library we want patrons to seek, find, and enjoy information about our community and world. This project is more than a fundraiser; it is a unique way to experience the variety of tastes across the spectrum of Longview residents."

Residents are encouraged to visit the Longview Public Library, 222 W. Cotton St., to purchase their own copies of the cookbooks. Beginning April 19, cookbooks will be available at the Access Services desks for $12.50 each by cash or check. The cookbooks contain helpful cooking hints, recipe category dividers, table of contents, an index, and pages of interest about the Longview community. Additionally, the name of the recipe contributor is printed with each recipe.
