Teenager killed in Trinity County Wreck

TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) – According to DPS reports, a two-vehicle collision killed one teenager, and injured another early Saturday morning.

A Honda Accord, driven by William James Odom, 19, of Kennard, was traveling eastbound on State Highway 94, one mile northwest of Apple Springs, Saturday at 2:45 a.m. A truck driven by Jessee Lee Mcdougald, of Groveton, came onto the roadway from a private drive, traveling into the pathway of the Accord.

Odom was not wearing his seatbelt, and died at the scene. Next of kin have been notified.

A passenger in the Accord, William Blake Hamilton, 20, also of Kennard, was taken to Lufkin Memorial Hospital. The DPS report indicated Hamilton was in poor condition with multiple facial fractures.

The report did not list any other injuries.

Crockett DPS trooper Bryan Becton investigated the accident.
