Sunday night a Desoto man visiting East Texas for a golf tournament was killed in a single truck crash.
It happened about seven Sunday evening in Smith County on FM road 1995, near the Van Zandt County line.
DPS troopers say the 38-year old man lost control of his truck and hit a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No other cars were involved in the crash.
In a another crash, a truck lost control Sunday afternoon in Upshur County heading into a crowd of oncoming motorcycles.
The wreck occurred just before 2 p.m. Sunday on highway 271 between Gilmer and Pittsburg. Troopers say the truck veered into the southbound lane of traffic, striking three motorcycles.
Two of the motorcycle drivers were killed and another sustained a broken leg.
DPS suspects the driver of the truck may have had a medical condition that led to the crash.
