TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Hundreds of East Texans got their hands dirty today at the "Don't Mess with Texas Trash Off" in Tyler.

People of all ages picked up litter along Rose Rudman Park and its creek beds. Keep Tyler Beautiful hosted the event and says the cleanup will improve water quality and reduce threats to wildlife. "We found picnic tables, transmissions, suitcases. You can't believe the things we found in the creek in the past. It's not so bad as it used to be!" said Marjorie Mustard with Keep Tyler Beautiful.

This is all part of Keep America Beautiful's 2010 Great American Cleanup.
