Annual awareness event hosts business giant Steve Forbes

LONGVIEW, TX - East Texans Against Lawsuit Abuse announced today that business giant, former vice-presidential candidate, philanthropist and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Forbes Media, Steven Forbes will be their guest speaker at ETALA's annual public awareness event, An Evening with Steve Forbes, April 9, 2010 at Pinecrest Country Club in Longview.

The evening will start off with a book signing and reception highlighting Forbes latest book, How Capitalism Will Save Us. Forbes is also author of Power Ambition and Glory: The Stunning Parallels between Great Leaders of the Ancient World and Today…and the Lessons you Can Learn, co-authored by John Prevas (Crown Business, 2009). He also wrote: Flat Tax Revolution: Using a Postcard to Abolish the IRS (Regnery; and A New Birth of Freedom (Regnery, 1999), a book of bold ideas for the new millennium. Books will be available that night and can be signed in the reception by Forbes.

The company's flagship publication, "Forbes", is the nation's leading business magazine, with a circulation of more than 900,000. Forbes combined with Forbes Asia and the company's ten licensee editions together reach a worldwide audience of more than 5.5 million.

Forbes writes editorials for each issue of "Forbes" under the heading of "Fact and Comment." A widely respected economic prognosticator, he is the only writer to have won the highly prestigious Crystal Owl Award four times. The prize was formerly given by the U.S. Steel Corporation to the financial journalist whose economic forecasts for the coming year proved most accurate.

Following the dinner, and silent auction the program will follow. There, Forbes will share his insight into today's economic challenges and how they affect everyone from the small business owner to those facing retirement. Afterwards, you will be able to submit your questions to Forbes.

In previous years ETALA has hosted such speakers for their annual public awareness event as ABC correspondent, John Stossel , U.S. Senator John Cornyn and Fox News contributor and patriot, Col. Oliver North.

Tickets can be purchased by calling East Texans Against Lawsuit Abuse at 903.234.8300. Tickets for the book signing are $50.00 and tickets to the dinner; program and silent auction are $100.
