Burglary, goats on the loose and criminal activity

SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Burglary seemed to be the dominant theme of Monday's Smith County dispatch report. At 7:45 a.m. someone broke into a business on Highway 271 and robbed the safe. Then, over on County Road 3119 (NE), an East Texan reported that someone broke into her storage building and stole some horse fencing at 12:01 p.m. At 3:42 p.m. a call came in from Marcella Circle in Smith County. It was a woman calling to report her son had gone into her house and taken things without her permission - a Class A misdemeanor. Three items are reported missing. At 6:30 p.m. several items were reported as broken and missing at a home on Sunset Strip. Charges will be filed.

At 8:28 p.m. a person called to report that 7-8 goats had wandered onto his property. He said he was not able to find their owner and would like someone to come pick them up. The goats were picked up by Lt. Scott.

The caller advised at 11:17 p.m. that a person tried to break into her house. He broke a window out and kicked her front door in. She said the subject left in a vehicle, possibly heading to Lindale on FM 14.

At 12:14 a.m. the caller said that a person kicked in her windshield. She said the situation started as a disturbance and she let him out on FM 14. She said that he is possibly walking along FM 14.
