Longview,TX (KLTV) - Fighters , bombers and acrobatic aircraft filled the skies over Longview, in scaled down versions. The annual spring fun fly by the east Texas aeromodelers took off at Longview field today. More than a hundred remote control pilots brought out their electric and gas powered unique designs, from classic models , to helicopters to a flying lawn-mower. Even a world war two replica of the B-25 Mitchell bomber used in the Doolittle raid over Tokyo. For those who attended, it's a hobby that never goes out of style.
"The satisfaction comes from taking a box of sticks and then really watching it fly on Sundays" says aeromodeler pilot Eddie Bernaldez.
"My dad used to build these planes and we would go out to the airfield it was one of my most favorite memories was spending the day out with him flying the planes" says spectator Gwen Akin.
The event was free to the public, and anyone interested in the hobby can visit www.easttexasaeromodelers.com.
