Former Lindale student, teacher to be Moss Assistant Principal

LINDALE, TX (KLTV) -

Released by the Such and Such Office of So and So:

LINDALE, TX - A Lindale graduate and former LISD teacher is coming home.  The Lindale ISD board of trustees approved the hiring of Jeremy Chilek as assistant principal of E.J. Moss Intermediate School.

Chilek is currently the assistant principal at Arp High School.  He will begin his duties with Lindale ISD in July.

A 1997 graduate of Lindale High School, Chilek worked as a student assistant coach at Lindale Junior High School from 1999-2002.  He served as a history teacher and football, basketball and baseball coach at Lindale Junior High until 2004.  Chilek then moved to Lindale High School where he worked as a history teacher and football and baseball coach until 2006.

He later worked for the Jacksonville Independent School District as head baseball coach and history teacher at Jacksonville High School and assistant principal of Jacksonville Middle School.

Chilek fills the assistant principal vacancy at E.J. Moss after former assistant Lori Anderson was hired as principal earlier this month.

"I am excited about Jeremy Chilek returning home to Lindale," Superintendent Stan Surratt said.  "He is an outstanding school administrator with a great reputation for positively impacting students.  The administrative team of Mrs. Anderson and Mr. Chilek will certainly be very strong.  E.J. Moss Intermediate School is an Exemplary Campus that has had great success I expect nothing but greater student success."

The John Tyler Lions always seem to look sharp in their uniforms. But thanks to East Texas lawyer Keith Miller, the Lions will look better and play safer. Helmets that advertise lowering the impact of hits, and possibly reduce the amount of concussions, come with a hefty price-tag. Miller's donation of 7,500 dollars, will go to help the lions cover that cost. "Keith Miller's been a big sponsor of John Tyler High School football program for years now.  I know it's...More >>
