Livingston woman dies after hitting cow, car

POLK COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Livingston woman has died after hitting a cow on FM 1988, then hitting another vehicle head-on.

According to the DPS report, Kelly Cain, 21, was driving her 1999 Dodge Intrepid eastbound, three miles west of Livingston, at 7:17 p.m. when she hit the cow, then hit a 2004 Ford F-250, driven by Ricky Lynn Malcolm, 32, of Livingston. Malcolm jumped a guardrail and drove into a creek.

A justice of the peace pronounced Cain dead at the scene at 9:10 p.m.

Malcolm is listed in fair condition with a broken ankle.

According to a story published at PolkCountyToday.com, the cow died on impact.
