Longview's Brown Bag Concert Series kicks off

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - A traditional sign of spring is underway in Longview with music and food on the downtown workforce's lunch break.

It was the first installment of the traditional spring Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series at Heritage Plaza in Longview.

New this year is the Downtown Market, where visitors can pick up fresh fruit, flowers and plants.

For many the event gives them a sense of hometown fun with friends and co-workers at local businesses.

"Today's a beautiful day and I've come down because the sun is shining, and I like to be where there is a crowd," said Ray Shelby. "A crowd will attract me for sure. I like to look at everything so I'm too old to look at the ladies so, I just come down to ride around on my scooter."

The Brown Bag will be held every Friday, with the exception of Good Friday, through May the 7th.
