Deputy captures suspect with good Samaritan's help

On Wednesday at approximately 1:30 p.m. Henderson County Sheriff's Warrant Deputy, Billy Jack Valentine, observed a subject known to him as Brandon Reid Black, 24. Black had been sought by Valentine in reference to felony warrants for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, deadly conduct, and possession of marijuana. Black was observed at the Shell station in Payne Springs located on Highway 198 standing beside a vehicle. Valentine approached and attempted to take Black into custody and Black attempted to run. Black began fighting with Deputy Valentine and attempted to take his weapon. A good Samaritan stopped and helped Deputy Valentine get Black into custody. Black was transported to the Henderson County Jail.
