Officer pleads guilty to shooting BB gun at neighbor's home

GREGG COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - An East Texas police officer, accused of shooting a B.B. gun at his neighbors house, is now out of a job.

In Gregg County court Wednesday, officer Kelly Lawrence pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal mischief.

Authorities say Lawrence fired the gun at his neighbors home in January, because the neighbors sons were playing a video game too loud when he was trying to sleep.

As part of the plea, Lawrence was given six months probation, ordered to pay restitution, and ordered to resign from the Longview Police Department.
