British Airways workers go on strike

LONDON, ENGLAND (KLTV) - An airline strike has left hundreds of travelers stranded in London.

A three-day strike by British Airways cabin crew over a pay freeze and changes to working conditions began at midnight on Friday. Last ditch talks between the airline's management and union leaders have collapsed.

Now a total of 1,100 flights out of the 1,950 previously scheduled are expected to be canceled.

To solve the situation British Airways has leased planes and crew from rival carriers to take up some of the shortfall and hopes to operate around 65 percent of its international schedule.
