Longview apartment fire suspected arson

By Bob Hallmark - bio | email

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - An overnight fire destroyed an entire unit of a Longview apartment complex and investigators say it's arson.

Fire crews rushed to the 700 block of Ethel street around one a.m. this morning to the Jerusalem Apartments.  Unoccupied for months, the property owners had spent thousands of dollars renovating the complex.  The fire jumped into the attic, and quickly burned through supports which collapsed the roof.

Gregg county Fire Marshal's say evidence of arson was found. No one was on the property at the time, and fire authorities ask anyone with information to call the Longview fire department.
