Union Voted Down In Longview

It was a waiting game for both supporters and opposition to the idea of a nurses union at Good Shepherd, but in the end, it was voted down. By a vote of 322 against, 249 for, the nurses at Good Shepherd have decided they will not have the first nurses union in Texas.

Over two days registered nurses came out to vote on whether to form Texas' first nurses union affiliated with the teamsters. Although both sides agree that poor communication with management and patient care are the root of the problem, they split on whether a union was the answer to the problem.
