Enter the architect: Karl Rove in East Texas

By Taylor Hemness - email

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Karl Rove has been called "The Architect" or George W. Bush's successful presidential campaigns.

But during his years in the White House, he learned what it was like to part of an administration with an unpopular agenda.

Rove was in Tyler Wednesday night to promote his new book, and to speak at UT Tyler.

The former advisor also made a bold prediction about the future of the Democrat-controlled congress, if the health care bill passes this week.

Rove says, "If they pass this bill, particularly using parliamentary tricks like they're talking about, I think the House goes Republican this fall. Because even people who vote against this bill will find themselves in a place where their constituents will say, 'you voted for Nancy Pelosi and made all this possible.'"

Rove says that according to polls he's seen, last year, most Americans were two to one in favor of health care reform, and now they're three to one against the bill being put forward by the President.
