You can expect delays on a busy Tyler bridge that's going under construction. Work on the Beckham Street Bridge between Gentry and front Street begins Monday.
The Department of Transportation says the 70-year-old bridge needs rehabilitation. There's some structural damage to the concrete, a new railing needs to be installed for safety reasons and for aesthetics, the bridge needs to be repainted.
At first, drivers may only experience single lane closures. But, by the end of April, the bridge will be totally shut down for about 21 days to repair the structural problems.
In all, the 1.4 million dollar project should take until July to complete.
