An East Texas company is trying to cut costs -- and its employees will pay the price. Eastman Chemical in Longview is cutting back more than 100-million dollars with a 3 percent pay cut to its employees. 17-hundred employees will see the cuts in their checks by April 25th. A company spokesman says the cuts are a result of increased prices of raw materials and transportation costs due to the rising price of gas. Top company executives will feel the cuts too. They'll get a 6 percent salary cut.
