LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - A community service project dedicated to helping children was presented to Longview police today, in the form of teddy bears.

The Zeta Phi Beta sorority of Longview delivered hand stuffed teddy bears to the Longview Police Department. Police give the stuffed animals to children who may be victims of family violence. The group uses the bears to show there are many ways to help your neighbors.

"A bear, everyone has their little stuffed animal that they can hold onto, on a good day or a bad day, whether its good or bad the little kids can have something joyful to play with," says Zeta member Brandy Brown.

"They will be put to good use they surely will children who are traumatized by incidents where we have contact with them," says Longview police sergeant Richard Spruiell.

The reward for the younger members of Zeta Phi Beta for helping with the bears, an afternoon pizza party.
