TYLER, TX (KLTV) - It was a chili cooking throw down at the 29th Annual Rose City Cook-off today.

44 registered teams arrived at the event put on by the Rose City Chili Pod ready to do battle. The winner of today's cook off won qualifying points for the world championship chili cook off in Terlingua, Texas.

There was a bean cook-off, wings cook-off, and a junior division chili cook of for younger chili masters. Some cooks put on their game faces while others just wanted to have a little fun.

"Oh I think it is for fun, but I think we can win," said chili cook Stacy Day,"We have secret ingredients in our chili. We have champagne!"

The blue ribbon for chili went to Tammy Russel from Louisiana.  All of the proceeds from the event went to Camp Tyler.
