MINEOLA, TX (KLTV) - After seven days and nights of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, it was finally time to "move that bus." Thousands showed up outside of the new Carr home in Mineola to welcome the family back.

It was worth the wait for East Texans, standing for hours to greet the Carr family.

"[I've been here] since 6 this morning," said Kenny Kratzmeyer. "It's our first time so it's really exciting."

The countdown began. And, finally, the family arrived. They quickly embraced the community that has worked so hard to build their dream house. Before the reveal, three famous words were chanted.

"Move that bus! Move that bus!"

The family was filled with emotion when they saw their home. Katrina Carr's dad shed tears of joy, especially when he saw the new car given to his daughter's family. He could imagine what was going through her mind.

"What she would love to do is take everybody and just wrap her arms around everybody and give everybody a hug," said Tommy Asher, Katrina Carr's dad.

A hug for everyone who made this happen, and to those who say giving won't stop here.

"ABC goes home after this and I think as a community we continue coming together to help the Carr family and hopefully pay it forward in more ways than one," said Darrin Bryan, with Bayless Homes.

It is a community that even the Extreme Makeover crew won't forget.

"For me, this is one of my favorite experiences we've had," said Milan Vasic, Senior Producer for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. "It feels like home."

And, it is the Extreme home that will provide a better life to a much deserving family.
