Hutchison plans to strengthen Republican party

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The day before primary elections, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison made a stop in Tyler.

Senator Hutchison shook hands with local officials and East Texans. She spoke to us about key issues in her campaign like improving the high school dropout rates and transforming the transportation commission. The senator urges the East Texas area to get out and vote Tuesday.

"I will unite the republican ticket," said Senator Hutchison. "I will work with local officials to make sure we win elections we have been losing under Governor Perry...that is not good for our state as a whole to have a governor that keeps lowering number of Republican voters. We need to build up and strengthen our party."

again, the primary elections are tomorrow.

Now, if no candidate gets 50 percent of the vote, there will be a runoff.
