MINEOLA, TX (KLTV) - Crews are turning night into day and with hundreds of volunteers amazing progress has been made in the last 24 hours on the Carr family's future dream home.

Mineola, Texas 3 a.m.

From a distance you see the lights, up close you hear the sounds of hundreds of volunteers building the foundation for the Carr's new home.

"I haven't seen this many people excited at 3 o'clock in the morning in a long time," said cement man Brett Nichols, who came prepared for the dirty job.

"Not very much inspiration, a whole lot of perspiration," added Nichols.

No shortage of sweat here, shovelers let sand fly, prepping the area for a concrete pour already behind schedule.

"You always have an adventure when you pour concrete," says concrete project leader Charles Schmidt.

At 4 a.m. most volunteers have been up all night, but Samantha Robertson says drowsiness doesn't come easy, "Lots of cold cold air everywhere."

Rebar is laid down and tied off one by one. The concrete pump still empty, workers realize the situation.

"[Got to] get it on the ground as quickly as possible," says cement finisher Chuck Harris.

"You know you've got one shot at it," adds Zach Taylor, with Taylor Concrete in Jacksonville,"It's make you or break you."

At almost a quarter to six in the morning pesticide is sprayed, the final step before pouring.  At 6:01, the concrete men start pouring 12 truckloads.  The mix, a special fast drying concrete able to be built on hours later.

Volunteers slosh in and smooth over rough patches and are finally greeted with a sunrise.  An hour later, the Carr's new foundation almost done the workers see the result of hard work.

"Most of us has been up all night, out here working and out here working for the Lord," says concrete man Albert Hale,"That's what it's all about."
