TYLER, TX (KLTV) - There is a simple way you can help out with the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. All you have to do is donate aluminum cans.
The Bam Foundation has set up trailers in Tyler and Mineola to collect the cans. They will be recycled and the money collected will go directly to the Carr family.
The goal is to gather 20,000 pounds of cans which is expected to bring in about $10,000. The foundation hopes this will give everyone in the community a chance to volunteer.
"It gives the community the chance to help even though they aren't on the volunteer team," said Brent Miller, who is collecting cans for the Carrs. "It gives them a chance to feel like they helped out in a way."
You can drop of cans at a trailer in the Broadway Square Mall parking lot in Tyler or at the Mineola scrap yard.
The can drive started Friday and runs through next Thursday - the same day we "move that bus!"
