Released by the Office of Tommy Merritt:

Chairman Merritt attended the press conference today and personally thanked the law enforcement officers involved.

"The task force members have worked diligently for several weeks and their sacrifices have not gone unnoticed.  The entire East Texas community is grateful for their steadfast, dedicated efforts. This is great news for all of our congregations and we will now move forward in rebuilding these churches," stated Merritt.

DPS helicopters played a critical role in the investigation.  Chairman Merritt has secured a DPS helicopter to be based at East Texas Regional Airport beginning in May.
